A. Adding a Budget

  1. Log in to Docyt. Navigate to 'Reports' and click 'Budget and Forecast'.

  2. On the Budget and Forecast page, click the “+” icon to create a new budget template.

  3. Enter Budget Details

a. Assign a name to the budget report.

b. Specify the budget year in the Period field.

c. Tick the Budget checkbox and click Continue.

  1. Customize Budget Values The budget includes the chart of accounts, categorized as:

A. Metrics

B. Report In Line

C. Chart of Accounts

  1. Income

  2. Other Income

  3. Cost of Goods Sold

  4. Expenses

  5. Other Expense

Use the Custom feature to populate values with:

  1. $ per avaialbale Room

  2. $ per occupied room

  3. % of Chart of Accounts (month- and year-wise)

  4. ADR*Room Sold

  5. LY Actual + % Increase

D. Steps:

  1. Select the desired method from the ‘Autofill By’ column.

  2. Enter the percentage or value in the ‘Value’ column.

Recommendation: Use Last Year's Actual + % Increase (year-wise) for best results.

  1. After entering values for each chart of accounts and month, click Save..

  1. You can import or export the budget in Excel format by clicking the ellipsis menu.

B. Accessing and Editing a Budget

  1. Open a Budget Log in to Docyt, navigate to Reports, and select Budget and Forecast. Click on the ellipsis menu next to the budget you want to open/edit/delete. Click ‘Edit’.

  2. Edit Details

Update the budget's name or period as needed. Click Continue to proceed.

  1. Modify Budget Values Make necessary adjustments to the budget entries. Once changes are complete, click Save.

C. Setting a Budget as Default

  1. Choose a Default Budget

  2. Locate the ellipsis menu next to the desired budget.

  3. Select Set as Default from the dropdown options

  1. Identify the Default Budget The selected budget will be marked with a green Default flag, making it the primary reference for financial analysis and planning.

  • By setting a default budget, you ensure that it is automatically selected and used as the primary reference for financial analysis and planning within your business
